We moved to Lower Minchingdown Farm a few years ago and are developing a traditional mixed farm, with an emphasis on the taste and quality of the produce. To do this we are keeping a range of traditional and rare breed animals. We have local Greyface Dartmoor and Polled Dorset sheep, Gloucestershire Old Spots pigs, various breeds of chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese. We have two Guernsey cows with their own calves plus additional bought in calves from other local organic farms.

We run the farm organically and are signed up with the Soil Association. We are in our second year of conversion and are now selling organic eggs, poultry and pork. Our lamb and beef will be certified organic from summer 2009 when we complete the conversion process.

The farm is based in 50 acres of typical rolling Devon scenery. It had not been run as a farm for some years, so our first tasks involved sorting out basics like gates, fences, water and farm buildings.

There are plenty of photos of the farm and livestock on our Gallery pages and the Diary pages will give an account of our progress in developing the farm.
